A New Challenge for CEOs: Managing Generations with very different expectations

Many companies are having a hard time adapting to today’s new world due to: 

1) digital forces are turning the traditional business model upside down on its head 

2) competitors are no longer from the US, UK, and Japan based world 

The author also goes on to argue that a third reason may be at play: having to manage multiple generations in the workforce as it now consists of baby boomers, Gen Xers and Gen Yers.  To add on to these differences, social media and technology have further increased the gap between how these generations communicate, learn, and ultimately how they will work well together in the business environment.  Successful CEOs will be able to exploit these differences in generations and leverage their businesses around each employees’ skill sets.
