Last year a meeting took place in New York between the most important Olive Oil producers from Spain, The New York Time’s,  Google and AllianceBernstein organized by the Restaurant Associates. The event was meant to define all the different varieties that Spanish Olive Oil have. Amongst the varieties tasted, were “Arbequina”, “Hojiblanca” and “Picual”.

Before this event, the “Olive Oil from Spain days” in the U.S.A had been organized, sponsored by the “Spanish International Commerce Agency” (ICEX). The “The Olive Oil from Spain days” took place in Chicago, Denver, New York and San Francisco from the 5th to the 9th November. There was a contest between some of the most popular restaurants in the U.S.A.; for example: “Vermilion” from Chicago, “Socarrat” from New York or “Canela y Contigo” from San Francisco amongst others.
